01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of San Diego at 6959 Linda Vista Rd, The San Diego Taco Truck serves up an authentic taste of Mexican street food that locals and visitors alike rave about. This unassuming spot has become a beloved culinary gem, especially known for its mouthwatering tacos that capture the rich, bold flavors of traditional Mexican cuisine.

The true star of the menu is the wide variety of tacos, featuring standout options like the tacos de cabeza, which customer Erick Wong heralds as “very tasty” and truly unique to this local favorite. From carne asada and pollo to chorizo and adobado, each protein choice is sizzling fresh and delivers a juicy, savory bite that pairs perfectly with their traditional corn tortillas. Far from chewy or ordinary, these tortillas have been described by Sarah Saei as “some of the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had,” providing a perfect balance of softness and subtle corn flavor that elevates every taco.

The dining experience at The San Diego Taco Truck feels effortlessly casual and welcoming. The staff’s genuine hospitality shines through in little touches – Jefferson Vuong mentions how the team even grilled extra onions just because they noticed how quickly they were being devoured. This kind of attentive service, paired with fresh, flavorful food and affordable pricing, makes it a standout option for a quick meal or a casual outing.

Though originally wary of its truck setup, longtime fan Roberto Torres points out that the operation has expanded indoors, alongside a charming bakery, creating a versatile space that blends convenience with authenticity. The atmosphere remains relaxed but vibrant, perfect for gathering friends and savoring genuine Mexican street fare. Regulars like D Eckman appreciate the late-night hours and friendly vibes, making it a dependable spot no matter the time of day. While sides like beans or rice are not currently offered, many guests find the generous self-serve toppings and salsa bar more than enough to complement each taco.

For anyone craving a flavorful, no-fuss taco experience in San Diego, The San Diego Taco Truck delivers with unmatched authenticity, quality, and warmth. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of Mexican culinary traditions served with heart and soul.

If you’re looking for a taco truck in the San Diego area, look no further. The tacos are phenomenal and perfectly priced. I’d highly recommend their carne asada, pollo, chorizo, and adovado! Saw that someone said the tortillas were chewy, I disagree; they were some of the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had.

My fiance took me to this place because I wanted the best tacos she’s ever had. This place nails it! Amazing prices, lots of fresh and sizzling meat choices, unlimited self serve toppings and veggies and salsas, and exceptional service. They grilled extra onions for us without us asking because they noticed we were devouring it quickly. We got one of each taco, only one we wouldn’t get again is the fried pork skin because it was a little too fatty for our taste buds but still good if that’s what you like. Would love to come here again when I’m in San Diego

Great food, friendly folks, casual and authentic. Not seeing the truck scared me, but now they have everything inside, alongside the bakery.

I have been here three times now and I plan to come more often for sure. The food is great, prices are great, I like the music, and there’s not too much more to ask for from an awesome local food truck. There are a bunch of salsas, onions, parsley, cucumbers, and more that you can help yourself to and it’s close to home with that authentic Mexican flavor. I ordered 5 tacos and debated getting more haha Great spot, check them out!

So Good! The food here was delicious. I had the fish tacos, King California Burrito, and the shrimp and oyster cocktail, . They gave a delicious soup while waiting for order to be ready. The food was fresh and so good! Worth the visit.

Great food. Funky down to earth atmosphere. Service is sometimes a little lacking. But it’s a good truck open late that serves really good pastor and tripa. All good
